U.S. Mint ends production of the penny

After more than two centuries in circulation - and with billions of one-cent coins out there, today was the final day for making the penny. It was a somber occasion in Philadelphia where the last coins were made. The final two will be auctioned off. NBC News’ Liz Kreutz reports.
